Introducing DoevStream

We're excited to introduce DoevStream — a media center app designed from the ground up for the big screen.

What is DoevStream?

DoevStream is a player and interface for Android TV and Android phones. It gives you one clean place to browse and watch the catalogs you care about, without bouncing between apps.

Here's the key thing to understand: DoevStream doesn't host any video content. The Movies and TV Shows tabs are populated out of the box using metadata from TMDB (The Movie Database) — so you can start browsing right away. To actually play something, you install Stremio-compatible addons that provide the streams. Addons also unlock extra catalogs and tabs like Live TV. DoevStream organizes everything in a polished, consistent interface.

The choice of addons is yours — DoevStream hosts no content; addons are user-installed.

Why we built it

Most media center apps fall into two camps: phone apps that look awkward on a TV, or TV apps that feel clunky and outdated. We wanted something that felt premium on the big screen — designed for the remote, with an interface that puts content front and center.

At the same time, we wanted it to be open: no walled garden, no locked catalogs, no subscriptions. Just a great interface that works with whatever addons you bring to it.
